Academy of civics

INVITATION

Dear Friends,

We would be honored to count you among the founding members of the "Academy of civics "(*) which is rooted in social doctrine, the Magisterium of the Church and irrefutable texts such as Saint Thomas Aquinas.
What good is creating such an institution, we say you can be, when France was left without a soul ... stripped of his security policy and de facto an independent foreign policy ... and what about her family policy, however, the basic unit of the company ... or its Ministry of Education.
One fact justifies the call that we do: in a few days we'll have to vote to choose who will lead France, which will "partner" of Europe in his state. How will the French knowingly?
"In modern democracies, which no longer refer to a higher moral law, the duty of the honest citizen is intrinsic to consider passing laws in what he believes him to be the best for society: the only its duty and the only freedom he has left, "said Prof. Jerome Lejeune.
Today, Bishop Dominique Rey, bishop of Frejus-Toulon, said that 2007 and 2008 will be two years of major elections. We are called to express our political choices and take decisions on major representative bodies of our country. However, what is at stake in the election? If it is that promote a society gradually build the common good and where man is placed in the center. For a Christian, the objective dignity of human beings is based on a vision of the appropriate person and loved by God and the unity of humankind, based on the respect for everyone ... As an institution, the Church keeps a distance from the election campaign. But we keep thinking of that memory of Benedict XVI: "The Church can not and must not take upon herself the political battle to build a society most fair as possible. It can not and should turn instead to the state. But she can not and must not remain on the sidelines in the struggle for justice. She must play her part through rational argument and she has to reawaken the spiritual energy without which justice, which requires sacrifice, can not prevail and prosper. "(Deus Caritas Est). The Pope began by noting the place of reason in political choice. The excessive weight of the moment and emotion in information media, confines often positions in a mirror, in a demagogic manipulation strategy opinion. Politics loses its credit. Confidence in participatory democracy comes out distorted.
Academy of Citizenship Studies has a mission to regularly analyze what can happen and what can be done with respect to the major challenges to come.
With you anything is possible! Together, this successful company! Knowing
can count on you, I assure you of my respectful consideration in Christo Rege per Mariam.
Eric Thebaud Fontenelles
